Tiny screws question

I still have my dads box of old screws and (mostly bent) nails. I hunt through them, often successfully, with fond memories of him doing the same thing.

I know my kids will chuck the lot out when I'm gone as they have little interest in DIY.

It may be just me but before I throw away any electronics I dismantle it and save the screws - and any interesting bits that might be useful.
Bet I would of had one to fit in my little pot of tiny screws.

Me too, and I did find a matching screw thread, but even shorter than the original. The problem was one of tracking down a longer one, was one of identifying the size and the thread. Easy when you know the thread.
