Tumble dryer alternative lock.

Those rectangular (swiveling) catches that are used to keep shed doors shut would work- provided that you used a nylon collar and or washers plus nut and bolt to project the catch forward. You could use felt/etc on the underside to prevent it from scratching the paint.

Does it look like this?

Or perhaps this?

Do this to find out, you can then identify whats broken.

It may be repairable (given how much new ones cost I'd try that first).

Hey. I tried this last night. This is the lock that I need, I can’t seem to find it online anywhere.

Do you have a multimeter?
You could check if that microswitch works. (Before you do mark each cable with a different mark - stripes work and take a photo of where the wires go).

The solenoid looks accessible so to me it looks repairable, once its figured out what's gone wrong.
I'd be trying to fix it myself, looking at the 3 figure cost of a new one.

Hey. Sorry no multimeter can I post it to someone to repair or does that not exist lol?

i did play around with it and push the lock into the catch and the spring but it didn’t seem to hook or nothing.
