Tumble dryer efficiency.

Drying on lines, in an enclosed space, with a fan and a dehumidifier running - is about as efficient as you can achieve.. The fan moves the air, to aid evaporation, the dehumidifier removes the moisture from the air and dumps it in the drain
Yes, but some prefer their heat pump driers to be a little more compact! ;)
 
Got an aeg heat pump tumble drier here, it's been great. We empty the water tank and clean all filters after each use, takes about 3 minutes.

But ours can hold all the washing at the same time, not just one load.

We have a conventional condensing tumble dryer which needs the tank emptying but doesn't heat the neighbourhood as a vented one would, all the "wasted" heat stays inside of the house replacing energy the boiler would use heating the house. Most stuff goes on racks in the dining room where the dehumidifier is to dry, the tumble drier tends to be used for towels and urgent stuff.
