Bad idea IMO - It's so simple to do a dynamic pressure and flow test - if the plumber and builder think it's fine 'just by looking at it' then I'd think twice about using them. It's as simple as getting a £15 pressure gauge, connect it to the outside tap and then run a couple of other cold outlets, time filling a bucket @ one of them for a minute and hey presto, that's the dynamic pressure and flow reading. If the plumber can't do such a simple test, doesn't have a pressure gauge and won't take all of 5 mins to do the work then IAH, I'd be looking for someone else.Builder and plumber seem to be of the opinion that the pressure looks fine so we really don't need to check mains pressure.
system would be isolated from the current boiler and sealed and then pressurised and left for a period of time. The test should be performed anytime prior to the re-work.Should that be prior to install or immediately after install?
