how old is the panel as 00 rather than prog is the pre 2000. ( the older panels sound very rough, very irritating the newer ones are much more pleasant to listen to, think the old sound would have put more burglars off as harder to concentrate0.
If you disconnect the back up battery then the system should recover, if its not goosed.
Low/ dead batteries can cause many panels to behave in strange ways.
5 minutes may not be a long time, but if the battery is small and in poor condition (old age) then may have been enough to send it over the edge.
