Very strange symptom - firebird boiler Reillo burner just blowing

Part number 3007178.
This O ring fits on the part of the flange that holds the blast tube in.
 
Still a mystery my burner, can you post a diagram showing the above. The blast tube on mine is just located with two set screws and is quite a loose fit.
