Well played Miss Raducanu

Lived here from the age of 2. Good enough for me

Shes a beautiful young woman, good enough for me!

Cannot believe some are bringing up their xenophobia over this young womans success.

Give your damn heads a wobble.

Who cares what nationality she is, or was, or might be. She's a tough competitor who beat all the odds. With minimal experience of playing top players and, as she aptly said herself, she wasn't even supposed to win the first game. To play and win without losing a set on the way is an incredible achievement.

You'll be shocked to hear that there are some people who habitually dislike foreigners, immigrants, people who speak a different language, and people who wear different clothes.

For example the sort of person I mentioned above who commented on a Romanian family who "moved in next door." or the sort of retired motor mechanic who moaned about hearing foreign voices in the street. Or the sort of prime minister who calls black children "Piccaninnies."

Sorry I have to tell you that such people exist.

Well done to her I say

mind you all these woman tennis players need to make the most of there opportunities

in a few years they will have to compete against some bloke self identifying as a woman ;)

She was brought to this country at the age of 2 and became naturalised. This officially makes her British.
The vast majority of people who have identified as British throughout the ages, and I'm including most posters on here, either came from foreign shores or have antecedants who did.
This makes all racists be a part of the saying pot/kettle....

I have even less interest in the world of tennis as I have of the world of football.

She's a healthy young lady & she's certainly easy on the eye . . . . I don't give a flying F##k of where she was born & I give not one flying F##K where she chooses to live now or in the future.

At this moment in time your MSM is making its £money by celebrating her immediate achievement. In a few short days they are going to run out of ways to spin that & then they will start to sell their bile. She is going to have to produce a back story, perhaps invent a boyfriend & maybe open her heart about how she was so abused as a child.

If she doesn't, they will sacrifice her at the alter in front of all the fukwits who woke up this AM with an opinion.

We have our very own foreigner haters on DIYnot. One in particular singles out Romanians and Chinese and obviously despises them.

Bless my soul!.....

it's all the better that's she's British.. I'm not into tennis anymore, but I'll be supporting her from now.

I'm afraid your right, not as many as you like to think but their are some bitter and twisted people who enjoy hating....

Rylan Clark-Neal was presenting his show on R2 . He read out a text from someone who obviously disliked the man...... I can't say I'm a big fan of his, but why on earth would you put yourself our to deliberately try to hurt someone's feelings.. Same as the footballers getting abused for their colour (because it does happen). Why would anyone go out of their way. Problem is it could be from anywhere in the world.... Let's hope Hate never wins..

A marketers dream.

And as you have already said, you prefer it if people kept quiet about it.

I'm not sure that's what I said.... or meant...or even remember that conversation with you....

Did I say we should keep quiet about hate?
