What have you been doing today?

Mine just has a rucksack/wheeled travel bag lashed on the back of the seat, a rear view mirror, which used to be bolted to the side of the dash - which I relocated this morning, to fix it on the right front mudguard. It's lower there, but it gets an unobstructed view behind, without bits of body getting in the way, plus all the vibration it suffered, from being at the end of a long arm.

On the motorbike, back in the 60's, I was always impressed with those mirrors which fitted into the end of the handlebar. They were the only ones, which gave a view, without bits of your body being in the way.

We went out for a much longer walk/ride, around the village, with Avril and the dog, to test the scooter. Along a disused rail-line, now a tarmaced footpath, then along a track, which became progressively narrower, the more we progressed along it, to the point where I was beginning to wonder if I might get stuck. The dog, laid down several times as if she'd had enough, so we struggled on with her, on the footrest of the scooter, her sideways on, sticking out at either end. Got within 1/2 mile of home, and it absolutely bounced down, and we all got a good soaking.

I think for the next trip out with the dog, I will have to devise some sort of board to fit in the footrest space, and make it a bit wider, for when the dog gets tired. I don't know - adapted the stair lift for the dog, now the scooter ;)

This one is a Rascal 388D. I've always been a bit wary of going far on it - because everywhere, is downhill from home. I'm not even clear on when the battery gauge gives a valid reading of the battery state. I'm thinking it must be when the ignition is on, but the scooter is static.
My mum had one that was my dad’s but she never used it. I let one of our friends dad have it. Before it went, it had been sitting in the shed for about 8 years. Batteries were still fine. I charged it up and went for a ride around Hornchurch on it with my mums dog on the footplate. An hour later it still had three quarters power left. Why not charge it up and keep driving it fairly near
to your house to see how long it can go on a full charge?

Which is exactly what I am doing. I picked up a pair of supposedly good, used batteries earlier in the week, I was a bit suspicious of them at the time, but it seems as if they might be fine... Now I'm just seeing how far it is safe to go with it.

Mine says it will do 32 miles, but I've not tested it beyond half that.

I pinched yet another pair of hotel slippers for my pointless collection.

Put up my 3rd and final LED strip today. This time, not a replacement, but an addition as that end of the garage was dark (well, to me with poor eyesight it was!)

This was an Ansell Tornado fitting, same brand as the existing ones but the next gen, called evo. There are two lots of switches inside giving you options for colour temperature and wattage.

Better than the older ones I have, and much cheaper to boot! Nearly half the price.

I like Tornadoes, fitted dozens in the last few years, got ten to hang next week using a cage on a forklift

Cherries on my brother's tree (Stella variety) taste far better than anything in shops. Apples too - not sure of variety.
Frost has had our cherry tree this year - barely enough left for one Cherry pie let alone for any Cherry gin (and home made chocolates) for xmas. Even had to prune a considerable quantity of twigs of the tree as that was all dead.
The frost even had the Cox apple tree - if fact all the leaves have died on that one as well.

Mine suggests 20miles, dependent on terrain. I wonder if they put power back into the batteries, on the downhill sections?
Some of the newer mobility scooters have regen braking. Some have regen and electromagnetic braking. But I'm not sure if regen works downhill.
