What have you bought today?

Can't play snooker on a full size table anymore, eyesights not up to it.

You have to take your hat off to decent snooker players.
Full length of full size table, when they play safety. Clip it softer than a gnat's guff.
Me? I'm lucky to hit the half I'm aiming for!

I used to be ok at snooker, read: extraordinarily average, but not anymore it's all too much for my old eyes.

A couple of mates make hundred breaks quite regularly in their leagues.

Just goes to show how good the pros are, if this pair have to have ordinary jobs.

like many things there's an ever steeper mountain to climb, the really steep bit I'd imagine is the difference between your mates, who are obviously quality players, and pro's

I'm no Hurricane Higgins but always enjoyed a game of snooker. Used to play once week in my younger days but that came to an end, took it up again after moving to cornwall and finding a place with a few tables, but that has since shut down.
My later playing days were a little disappointing if I'm honest, failing eyesight.

When I was at college, during lunch we used to sneak into a pool hall in Croydon called "Hustlers". First time I'd seen a full size pool table, enormous compared to the ones you get in pubs.

Yeah, pub ones are 6'x4' a proper sized one is 8'x4' or 9'x4'

When I met my wife we went to Felixstowe for a day out. One of her sons asked if I fancied a game of pool, which I'd never played before, and as I used to be quite good at snooker in my misspent youth I accepted. After all, it was a much smaller table and you just needed to pot balls of the same colour before potting the black.
What a mistake! He smashed me 3 games to nil then explained he was the current Newcastle University pool champion. :(
( I have managed to beat him on the rare occasions he has had too much to drink. )

Never stopped Dennis Taylor...
To be fair, he did have a pair of special glasses.....

Yesterday I ordered some weed barrier membrane to expand my patio area. Today I booked in the aerial people to put bird spikes on my aerial, so I can then order a nice little bistro table to go on the patio below the TV aerial - currently the area is covered in pigeon ****.
