it isnt really a heat guard as such, you will still need to protect the close area from heat with a scorch mat or something, that attachment is to reflect the flame so you get more even heat distribution when soldering larger diameter pipesI got a package that includes the attachable heat guard which looks handy
yet he can fit a boiler with a gas lighter so what do you knowJust to make it clear, if someone is going to the effort of a major chink of pipework, then he should buy a proper torch, as he has.
