Getting Far-rage elected is important because he plans to “reform” the torey party from within. It might give labor ten years while they fight out a civil war, but u.timately politics is on a right ward shift, including labor.
They are ideas, loony liz actually had the power to implement them and almost did. Tne country was, ironically, saved by the financial institutions the toreys represent.
Farage is approaching retirement age, and is a heavy smoker who likes a drink. How long has he got? He has never been able to hold a party together, and is main owner of Reform which is a company, not a party. He is a public speaker, not a leader.

No he isn't. He as always is doing his best to gain further to the right wing believers support. He also makes noises that will attract some from the left. All with impractical ideas.
He makes a big point about not winning an election - why as some people will think it's ok to vote for his party but miss the point that the ones voted in are effectively powerless. Even the opposition is really.
Similar techniques are used by other unlikely to win parties. At some point they may gain enough support to win and at that point they have to face reality or totally F the place up. The greens may be thinking this way before they gain enough power as their manifesto is aimed at specific problems that do need a fix. Their numbers probably do stack up. They will increase taxation. The extreme green ideas are not so significant but still a worry if the wrong way to go.
It seems so, all across the West. When there are huge problems with no palatable solutions, people are going to reach for populists.
No overnight palatable solutions, definitely.
But, given time* and a consistent determination, a better future is absolutely achievable.
Trouble is, in UK as in most of the world, ruling parties operate on the basis of the next five years, max.

I agree with this. I have no idea why people are still wanting to rejoin the EU there majority of EU counties are very right wing. There are countries who will ban people wearing islamic dress !!!

Our of interest Farage now feels he can forget the Tory party and concentrate on professionalising his own - including getting rid of more undesirables. He has no constituent offices for instance. He may well need some polished politicians. Generally those that finish up in the cabinet do have experience.

Immigration is still a big issue, a lot of Reform voters said as much when asked why they voted Reform.
Nigel is maybe working on the assumption that Labour will be even softer on immigration than the Tories.
If immigration gets out of control under Labour, that will attract more support for Reform.
Labour needs to take the issue of immigration, legal and illegal seriously if they want to hold on to power.
Reform attracts people who don't like foreigners.
