I would say 50/50, Insurance for both parties will make a meal of it and everyone will be out of pocket with a fault claim to boot!.

Still pretty bad driving on both parts imho.

Part of the Highway Codes states nobody has "right of way" so in that respect both are responsible imho.

Why didn't the camera car pull over a bit, I would have done it automatically without thinking and all this hastle could have been avoided.

If it's just two mirrors it's daft to involve insurance, both should just take that one on the chin imho.

Concur. Appalling driving on both counts. The odds of an accident occurring when you have two crap drivers on the same stretch of tarmac, increase exponentially.

Even if that is correct, why smash your mirror instead of moving left?
Would you not have done that instinctively anyway?

only if you had your eyes open and were looking where you were going.
