Bibby Bargain Barge?

Which is, in the eyes of some, inhumane.

In the eyes of others it doesn't matter where they go, or what happens to them. As long as they are not our concern, who cares.

Pretty much the same attitude of all those going on protests about letting the migrants in to the UK

When asked to sign up to give them accommodation

No room
House to small

In other words not interested not there problem

Basically they are all p*** and wind

Whataboutery.

There is a problem that needs fixed. It won't go away if it simply ignored.

The government have intentionally created a crisis to give them the oportunity to blame the UK problems on refugees.
It's a all a government scam and you've been scammed.

If you come to the UK illegally - your asylum claim is inadmissible in the UK. There is no international law or convention that dictates the rules a country applies to determine the admissibility of a claim, that is left to the state. Since you enter the UK illegally and have no lawful excuse, you are an illegal immigrant.
Untrue

the govt won’t allow you to claim asylum and the govt has no alternative, so you will stay in limbo, on the state forever.

great plan huh

Whataboutary the irony

Yer right it won’t go away

You signed up to help out than ? Or is it a case of nowt to do with you ??

Or is it a case of nowt to do with you ??
Nowt to do with any of us any more. As a country we don't accept anyone who hasn't had prior permission to arrive.

Other countries will just have to up their quotas.

I've said many times - I think there are better ways to discourage people from coming to the UK illegally. I've also said the revised bill will get stuck in the Lords, because there is no will to push it through or convention (e.g. Salisbury) to force it through on a fast track.

I think its chances are 50/50 at best. But that doesn't mean I am going to pretend it says things it doesn't or accept the opinions of people who either haven't read it or don't understand it.

Are you suggesting those who created the treaty aren't legal experts?
No.

I'm (strongly) suggesting that anybody that thinks it's watertight is deluding themselves and trying to convince others of the same.

So what are you (we, the country) going to do with them.

More Barges please

No.

Well

So which bit are you disagreeing with?

You may not like the policy, you may even say there are better ideas, but it's untrue to say they are not dealing with the problem. There have been zero crossings in the last 7 days, but there have been F6+ winds over the same period. The numbers are down over 2022.

I think it's obvious that there will reduced crossings during the winter, so it's disingenuous to claim it's the policy effects.
Similarly, it's already been established that the Albanian issue has been settled, so that will effect the numbers over last year.
Additionally last year was a record year for boat crossings.

What is it with ultra right-wingers, always making the same feeble arguments over and over and over again?
Motorbiking is claiming the policy is working

He'll be claiming it must be working because the figure for 2024 is zero.

scroll down and look at the chart. You can see 2023 was tracking 2022 until the summer. Sorry the data doesn't support your nonsense. The last table on the page shows a clear trend deviation.

It was late 2022 when the Albanians were stopped.
Of the Albanian migrants who arrived in small boats in 2022, 95% arrived between May and October.
The numbers were much lower in November, when 166 arrived and December, when 28 arrived.

So of course the 2023 numbers won't track the 2022 numbers.
  • In 2022, 12,301 arrived
In addition the French Police have received lots of money to increase their patrols.
