Bibby Bargain Barge?

£75k per person (roy's number} seems about right, based on your number its just under £45k. it costs £40k per year to house a convicted/remand prisoner. Now our resident human rights campaigners would be the first to complain if the standard of accommodation was worse than a prison. It also had to be stood up at incredibly short notice.
That number was based on full occupancy. The barge is currently well under that full occupancy.
The £75,000 per person is also comparable to a hotel room, if paying nightly. A full two years cost would be well below that, especialy if paid in bulk, and for numerous places, like a framework contract.
So the barge is not value for money.

It's standard MO to drip feed information on projects which have proven to be either worthless, or not providing value for money, or a Tory mate's charity benefit.
This project is no different, information is drip fed through numerous outlets, and no-one knows when, nor where the next droplet of information will be dripped.
It's posted on a public sector procurement portal ffs.

maybe they should hire you to negotiation contracts  or maybe you could open maison du Roy to claimants and charge £75k per year providing all the services required in the contract tender.

The whole debacle is performative to get their voters onside - we must stop the boats by using more boats (Bibby says Hi)

They convinced the public to vote against their better interests with Get Brexit Done.

Do not underestimate the anger and hate of the average person living with cuts to services and inflation latching onto the narratives that quick fixes exist.

I would say shame on anyone who has the facts and knowledge to understand why it's a sham but continue to push the narrative - MBK and all the Tory hornsmokers.

So again Tory bots how do we grow the economy?

The details are redacted and bits of information are being drip fed, through ad hoc media. No-one knows when nor where the next bit of information will be drip fed.

I'm not available.
And it's not possible to invite asylum seekers into private homes, except in specific cases.

The contract tender does cover all their needs. For example their legal advice will be provided by independent legal advisers. If the government was paying for such services, those legal advisers would not be working for their client.

So according to you someone on legal aid, cannot trust their lawyer because they work for the government ?

They're not paid by the government according to you. They're paid by the 'framework contractor'.
The government pays the 'framework contractor' for all their services.

And while we're talking about payments, we're not including lots of other payments, e.g. to local auhorities for services such as transport, etc.

Being confidential has no bearing on their abilities.
Legal advice does not come cheap, but the less able are obliged to accept lower wages.
It has nothing to do with confidentiality and everything to do with conflict of interest.

Irrelevant. It also has nothing to do with ability. And the least able come cheapest, paid for by the government or the contractor.

So you are an advocate of spending even more money, while also complaining that it isn't good value.

A junior legal professional is perfectly able to advise clients on their legal rights, just as a duty solicitor can keep plod honest and legal. Even if you did hire the top brain, they'd take one look at the work and pass it to a junior to do. That is how the industry works.

Are you talking to me?

The Junior is guided, and advised, where to look, etc. by more experienced capable seniors.
And often it's about the presentation of information, or lack of presentation of relevant information.
That is how the industry works. It's how any industry works.

what evidence do you have that this will not happen in the case of the Bibby contract. - None
