How about the concept of a "winning word" - one where without repetition there isnt anywhere to go?

Just one point:
is it a repetition since the start of the new round, i.e. from the last 'winning word', or a repetition ever, in the thread?

It'll take some some searching to identify repeats, and to prove the 'repeat'.
But it would add some additional spice and worth participating. As it is now, it's almost pointless.
