Don't think you can define what is sense or not. Talking about being obligated to feed and house them means you are encouraging a dangerous situation, socially and politically. So how will making it easier to process reduce the numbers coming each year . Yeah America made it easier to come in under Biden flying them in etc etc and there has been an explosion in the amount coming

But you then have the problem of dealing with them. Boat people can't claim asylum, and they can't work, so you need to house and keep them for a long time.

So they can't claim asylum from outside the country how are they gaining entry if not by boat and lorry

I didn't think you would have an answer. When you question those of the 'REFUGEES WELCOME' banner waving persuasion they strangely go silent when you ask them the limit of how many we should accept. Thousands, tens of thousands, millions, the whole of Africa???? They have not a clue. Even less of a clue how they will be housed, fed and have access to medical help. Also, more than likely they're doleites who won't be funding any of this ridiculous largesse.

It won't immediately. But we need to start somewhere, the current "system" isn't working.

Having an official easy way to apply means the likely genuine ones will present their documents and reasons and can be processed and dealt with

Those avoiding such a system are obviously the ones that need more attention.
