That is why the US/EU are going to lose the war in Ukraine.
The Europeans haven't come to terms with the fact that the world has changed.
If they want to become a global power again, they need to have Russia as a partner and not an enemy.

Partnering with Russia is like partnering with flesh eating bacteria.

You either need to be remote so the infection can't spread or big/dangerous enough that they can't gobble you up. Which is why all Russia's neighbours have run to join NATO

Chamberlain thought the same thing when offered a partnership by Russia to take out Hitler.
Churchhill on the other hand couldn't wait to do a deal with Stalin.
