Flammable cladding

And there you have it. A perfect example of someone who makes up their mind from 3 words what the meaning is. But then Carmen is not alone in trolling.

Go back and read your comments about the fridge.

That wasn't what allowed the fire to spread

It was the cladding.

The only argument is why it was allowed and fitted.

Bless if you don't like it pointing out to you try something else. Get out more meet real people you may find it helps.

Timber burns , who would have guessed .?
We have to put in effort, when preventing the spread of fire between dwellings, i.e. terraced, semi-detached etc. Some of it is extraordinary other bits are mundane and obvious. All of the efforts put into the spread of fire, have in mind that all of the buildings are flammable.

It's ridiculous that a tower block has a readily available, flammable fire starter, linking each property together. Madness.

Oh dear another one who knows what I 'mean' and just complains when it dies not fit their narrative.

Y'all know that Celotex and the like is no longer permitted (since Grenfell and the Regs changes) to be used in walls higher than 11m? It has to be Rockwool or similar. Celotex and the like has traditionally been used for the same reason it's advantageous at lower heights, you need less of a thickness so smaller (shorter) fixings so thinner walls and cheaper to build overall. We (architects practice) haven't used Celotex or similar in anything above 11m since Grenfell and the debacle that surrounded it occurred.

Grenfell has had an indelible effect on how BC officers operate with regards to their responsibilities/liabilities etc.

Most of the things humans introduce into buildings are flammable. However, did you know you can design a building to restrict the spread of fire?
If only they had some sort of standard or regulations… oh wait… they do.

It’s perfectly possible to encase flammable material in .. less flammable material.

Even aluminium burns at a certain temperature.
