Interesting debate in Israel

Proportionate and fairness is down to the country that was attacked. Do you think, for example, a theif who steals a tenner should be let off or just fined a tenner? If you do, you can be 100% assured the thief will thieve again and again and again. Unfortunately a lesson needs to be taught and Israel will decide when they have been taught it.
Genocide, collective punishment, targeting civilians and journalists is an international crime.
It isn't proportionate nor fair if the victim resorts to crime, in vengeance.

Not necessarily, but I don't think he should have his family killed and his limbs cut off for stealing a tenner..

Or to put it another way?

Which side is in the right ? Legally, morally and actually.

Legally, morally and actually, Israel as a Sovereign State has a right to defend itself, which it will be forced to do again this week, and next week and the week after.,

It doesn't have, nor has it ever had the right to discriminate, incarcerate, dispossession of land, ignoring UN resolutions, etc against the Palestinians, who they have kept under occupation for forty years.

What about if he has killed your family or friends and cut their limbs off?
I've said all along the Hamas attack was barbaric at times but I believe the response is even worse.

When Hamas do it it's wrong, when Israel do it, well that's just war for you.

Ah, you're referring to the mass slaughter of Palestinians in 1948, which has continued for over 70 years.

Ah, you’ve suddenly gained the ability to see my posts at last. What happened?
