Labour are following what Mandelson said about being intensely relaxed around the rich as long as they pay their taxes.
I'm sure John d notchy noseall and gally will be a long to say they agree with those sentiments. Lol
 
Socialism for the rich - an intriguing prospect as we await the benefits to trickle down upon the workers.

An old mate of my - dyed-in-the-wool-socialist - really surprised me with his thoughts on this [some Man City footballer on £200k a week].

He was all for it, if he was on PAYE.

"Think of all that lovely income tax he'll be paying in!", was his gleeful quote.

Mandy's view is bob-on, IMHO.

Thats as well maybe but how much is that sentiment across the board in the labour party.
Seems to me they're following in the Tories footsteps of creating division in the party before they get elected.
If they do get elected by a small majority how long can Starmer hold the fort will be the question.

Like society in general, there will be a spectrum of opinions across most groups of people.

Same for all leaders, to a greater or lesser degree.
Easier though, when the inevitable raving nutters are insignificant in both numbers and influence.

Particular trouble with the "Tories" over the last few years, is that the sociopaths, racists, incompetents, and nutters are both numerous, and in charge.

Starmer has full control of his party, the Corbyn cultists are weak.
 
The whips will be busy if it is a small majority don't you think.
They've already changed their policy on the green agenda.

By introducing JohnD et al, with the LOL to follow, it's not clear whether you have a position on the above at all.


But, if you're saying "I don't mind how rich you are, provided you pay your share of tax", I do agree with you.

Is that clear enough for you?
 
Couldn't give a stuff I don't vote and live my life in spite of politicians.
That's not to say I don't take an interest in politics and this latest shift by labour is an interesting one.
Last week it was reported they'd lost a lot of Indian voters 50% I think and were sending a delegation over to India for a bit smooth talking, so it looks to me behind the scenes t's not all beer and Skittles.
