Jay Slater

The information suggests he was found near his mobile, but at the bottom of a ravine? I suspect the case of Veronique Mireille Marre is not really comparable, since I'm pretty sure nobody knew her planned route (she spoke limited English) and she probably didn't have a GPS enabled mobile phone. Though she was apparently an experience mountaineer. Her remains were found by accident, not as a result of publicity.
Not making comparisons, just pointing out that its not a done deal, I must have walked past the location a few times while her remains were still there, no mobile etc but a very busy walking & climbing area

It seems he intended to walk 40km. Reports suggest the fell into something along with his stuff and searchers winched out when found.

They had reported abandoning the search. Public interest mentioned but it seems that a specialist team carried on.

Media oddly say little about the character of the bloke, even ones who live locally to him. Seems to be at odds with comments in this thread.

Seems - early news.

Part of the clip showed two members of the search team being winched out of the area by helicopter after the body had been found.
