Nothing like the glory days of the past - Roaming charges are back

Read the article. New customers only. :p
It is for now, once everyone has roaming charges for new customers then they'll wait a bit and retroactively apply it for (edit) existing ones. Or just laugh madly as they charge you twice as much as the same contract would cost now.

I just reduced my monthly payment to £8 for 12GB data and unlimited calls and texts (apparently they're still a thing).

Except it’s not a total sh1tstorm.
It is indeed.

1 Northern Ireland Protocol has severely damaged trade between GB and NI

2. Brexit has put massive trade barriers between UK and it’s biggest trade partner….that has meant loads of businesses moving to EU, lots of businesses losing EU export market, lots of businesses losing easy access to a frictionless market of $16trillion

3. SMEs that used to import and export within Europe, just as easily as trading in the UK, can no longer do so. A small business of say 10 people does not want the hassle of customs documentation to import.

4. Considerable supply chain chaos, unique to UK due to Brexit.

5. A deeply divided country

6. An increase in Xenophobia

7 Brexit has put a dishonest, corrupt, govt in charge…have a look at Tufton street network

8 Brexit and this right wing govt has caused a huge shortage of workers which will slow economic recovery

9 Brexit has damage fishing sector

10 Brexit has damaged farming sector

I dare say you can cherry pick a few benefits on rules we can drop and specific tariffs, but the overall effect is negative.

one thing is clear, Brexit won’t benefit those who voted for it as a protest against decades of decline in their region.

I went the other way, increased my payment to £10 and got 30GB
I should have gone down to 2GB

I disagree. There are undoubtedly negatives, but there are also positives. How they balance out is subjective, but ‘total sh!tstorm’ is an exaggeration.

Remind me what those are again? Higher wages for HGV drivers is all I can think of, but that's balanced by my nearest supermarket being out of milk half the times I visit.

Buy double each time you go then. Sorted. (y)
Don't worry, I'm able to manage because my fridge is huge. But it has made my life more awkward, it's not just milk either, frozen peas were missing last week, now frozen sweetcorn. It's a small, but real, way that Brexit has helped to make things more ****ty.

But the big shock has been pushed back again I believe. We're still not ready to start checking incoming paperwork for EU foods.

If the only item in the freezer section was frozen dog poo the Brexiteers would consider that as a win as it was home grown dog poo.

Care to tell us of the positives?
