Those of us that do enjoy putting small holes in card at 200 yards and beyond would consider that shooting those responsible for the PO disaster as to light a punishment
At least the court has cleared the names of those wrongly convicted...It's funny how the higher up you are, the more failure seems to be rewarded.
Would you rather it was done quickly without time to gather all evidence etc??
But as usual high up contacts enabled said 'obstruction'...Fair enough, however the PO knew of problems with the Horizon application and were AFAIR obstructive in the investigation.
The 'managers' that allowed prosecutions to continue even when an element of doubt was present should hang their heads in shame.
If, as I understand to be the case, there were witnesses who turned up in court and lied, they can surely be prosecuted for perjury.
Titter. I love the London football club rivalry. I remember leaving the Villa ground with my first-born a few years back, having lost to Chelsea. The chirpy 'cockneys' were in full song as we all left together and one of their fans draped his arm around my shoulder as he chanted.... "we only 'ate the Tottenham". My youngest was petrified. No need.As Tottenham found out this week.
Very equitable outcome for 555 peeps...
'...In December 2019, at the end of a long-running series of civil cases, the Post Office agreed to settle with 555 claimants.
It accepted it had previously "got things wrong in [its] dealings with a number of postmasters", and agreed to pay £58m in damages.
The claimants received a share of £12m, after legal fees were paid...'
An average of approx' £12mil / 555 = £21621 each.
Blimey, 92000 hrs legal fees @ guesstimate £500 per hr.
