Good old Sir Tim.

Never seen any trouble in a Wetherspoons.
And I've been in loads of them, loads of times.

I have seen trouble in many other boozers, over my decades though.

In other words, a tired old trope.

Plus, the beer is not overpriced, tastes fine, and there's a better selection of the stuff that in many other pubs.

As posted earlier ( and I've also said before, in other threads), 'Spoons saves many lovely buildings that would otherwise have been flattened.

Plus, the "no music"policy means you can actually go out and chat with people:most of the point of going out (y)

The usual whiners are sneering champagne socialists, trotting out tropes that are not borne out in reality.

Sure, someone will find a report of a scrap outside a 'Spoons, but that's as much because "Trouble outside Plough and Lettuce" isn't headline-worthy.

Spoons is a massive plus for our uk economy. 43000 people employed and all the subcontracted work
Tescos employ 354,000 people

I don’t see you praising them

why have you singled out Wetherspoons….oh that’s right, because Tim Gammon is a leading brexiteer

And is Wetherspoons a massive plus for our economy? - U.K. pins are now mostly owned by chains squeezing out independents.

It was an article I came across. If the owner of Tesco gets knighted I’ll post that immediately.

I hope that clears things up?

The same logic can be applied to Tesco and corner shops. More so I’d say. They all say “We can’t compete with the supermarkets”

Agreed, it’s nonsense to claim there is trouble at ‘Spoons.

Wetherspoons is used by the younger generation as the starting point for the evening, it’s not the main evening destination.

And yes, Wetherspoons has done a fantastic job converting old buildings and bringing them back into use. The Tunbridge Wells Opera house being a prime example of this

An article you were interested in because Tim Martin is a Brexit campaigner and the only reason he has been knighted is because we have a Brexit govt who love putting those who helped the Brexit con.

You’ve got a problem Notchy. I’m a massive fan of his pubs and business model.

You don’t mind taking his money. Is that double standards? I’m

You missed the bit about Tesco ? lol.

Rammed as usual last night and great for us dinosaurs who use cash and go to the bar instead of using apps and cards served within minutes .
Why would anybody go to a rammed pub and think it's great.

Much prefer room and comfort with good beer.

Spoons is good for a quick cheap drink with cheap food, but nothing more

Guess socialising Having a good crack with mates with a great atmosphere seeing loads of people enjoying themselves is a totally alien concept to you

I prefer quieter places where I can actually talk to and hear them

You just prefer drinking?
