Nevertheless, the verdict will make a portion of the Trump base reconsider their affiliation - particularly among the Evangelical groups who've continued to support him despite their misgivings about his character. He can appeal but that won't change the verdict given yesterday and the perception it creates when the RNC meets up in July to anoint their champion.

Sadly, I'm not sure thats true, trumpp’s base has held because they believe his conspiracy narrative. His media rants during the trial should have got him banged up for contempt of court though surely.

Not so sure, bidenn has played a blinder in tne middle east purely in terms of the political balancing act.
 
Sadly, he won't do time for this but a community service order would be possible - picking up trash from the sidewalk would suit him down to the ground. :D

Socialist union leader who ran his campaign from prison
Fir get his name but they were talking about him a while back on the radio

Forget why he was banged up ??

He died shortly after being released from prison which afaik was on a presidential pardon

Ref was made briefly about the fella this morning on the today prog but not his name

MartyG. found his name - Eugene Debs - he was imprisoned on accusations of being a Commie - a slur still thrown around by Republicans whenever a Democrat stands up to say anything about Social Welfare, healthcare or higher wages.
