Ukraine counter offensive

Russian army has never been particularly bothered about casualties

They have a large population so can mobalise more cannon fodder ??

Ukraine have limited man power resources ???

When Trump wins in Nov then the war will be over, US military funding will stop and Ukraine will cede territory and that will be it.

Seems it will end if Farage has anything to do with it as well.

It appears Ukraine will be returning to peace talks. Some form of unstated conditions about holding them.

Potentially 7 Su34s were destroyed or damaged in a drone strike on Morozovok airfield overnight. Which would make this one of the worst days for Russian aviation in history.

Which is nice

They have over 155 of them.
They had over 150 of them initially.

That was down to 140 before the invasion.

Since then they've lost something like 36, not including those 7.

Plus you don't know how many of the remaining airframes are serviceable. Combat operations are hard on planes, readiness for a fleet can drop into the 50% range if there's a lack of spares or trained technicians.

No one knows how many. There are upgraded 34, 34s and also 35m as well. The M seems to be intended for more long range precision bombing. Sat guided.

All I was pointing out is that they have a number left and some way to go before none.

Just watched a documentary from a journalist who was trapped in Mariupol for 20 days...lots of disturbing filming. Russians destroying the place and people...

The SU-35 is a fighter, not a bomber. It can't deliver glide bombs which is the main threat from Russian aviation at the moment.

By reducing the number you increase the pressure on remaining airframes and pilots. Plus losing 7% or more of the operational fleet in a single day is a painful event. They made 6 last year.

Aren't China feeding Russia with Wonga now, so they can crack on and make or buy new kit?

They've recruited heavily from their technicians and wages have gone through the roof so staff are hard to find. They're massively corrupt so money spent on kit is diverted. They don't have the factory space or tooling to build more.

A lot of their current gen kit uses US made components. They're much harder to get now.

Most of their manufacturing capacity has been targeted on refurbishing and upgrading old Soviet era kit. As that runs out they've got to start building from scratch and that takes time.
