What are you having for breakfast?

Veggie fry up this morning. Gotta try and use up some of the stuff we're growing over the allotment - I’m harvesting it quicker than I can eat it or give it away. The courgettes, toms and green beans were home grown. Yes Bod, Poncey baked beans again! :giggle:

Poached eggs on toast with poached smoked haddock. To make it a bit more interesting I caramelised some of my home grown tomatoes and the last of my asparagus. I had some wicked flames going on for a while too.

Going away tomorrow so I had a Thursday fridge clear-out breakfast this morning. Scrambled eggs, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, fried courgette and beetroot, baked beans and multigrain toast. The tomatoes, courgette and beetroot were all home grown.

Get going with the chutney, it's dead easy to make, You can add just about any veg or non-citrus fruit.
You can make it as chunky or as smooth as you like it.
Then the chutney, mixed with yoghurt or mayonnaise (and other options) makes an excellent dip.

Just scrambled eggs on toast this morning but before cooking the eggs, I grated a fair amount of parmesan cheese into them. No milk, no butter, just cheese. Nice. (y)

Thats more than I eat for most whole days.

When and why did "fried" change to "pan fried"?
Gastropub snobby pretentious carp.

I trained in various aspects of food production, preparation, packaging and cookery and used to work in the industry. Every time I see it I want to grab the person who wrote it and ask them "What the fork else would you fry food if not a pan?"

Although these days, the answer could be an airfryer....although a professional restaurant would never use one of those.

It’s to differentiate from something "deep fried". Uses less oil, caremelises the food, better for you, healthier and tastier. The Scots are now pan frying their mars bars. ;)

Kippers for me later. With Nutella and Branston pickle.
