This morning, I’ve been digging about in my own poo!
At 62 years old I’m on my second bowel cancer screening test - every two years when you reach 60 you get a kit through the door from the NHS - and it’s changed from last time. I’ll try and be polite - before, you had to take a sample on 3 consecutive days from either end of your movement on a sort of coffee stirrer stick, smear them on a card and send them off. A fair bit easier this time:
Anyway, all done but not without a bit of drama. I laid a bed of toilet paper in the bog, did my business, took my sample, flushed and.......the water came right to the top of the pan. Obviously I used too much paper so I had to let the water go down which took a couple of minutes and then get a bucket of water and poured that in quickly from a great height to clear the blockage. Job done, popped it in the post box down the street just in time for the 9.00 collection. You youngsters have got it all to come.
