Another example of how cash strapped councils waste money

Potholes are not evidence councils are useless.

Potholes are evidence of successive right wing governments starving public services.

Maybe if people like you stopped voting for people like Boris, things wouldn’t be so bad
Oh so what central government employee is actually filling in and inspecting these holes. Our council just been allocated an additional over 7 figures to address the problem

NWGS is a Trump supporter- Rather him than sleepy joe, yeah
NWGS is a supporter of brexit- I’ve said enough times I couldn’t care less and didn’t vote
NWGS is a supporter of climate change deniers lies- Like the fake sea level rise lol
NWGS is a supporter of right wing culture wars- I’ll need proof
NWGS is a supporter of privatisation- More lies

If you aren’t, why do you write posts making it explicitly clear that’s what you believe

16 million been allocated in the next 4 years for pothole repairs by our council now that's not a chicken feed contract

Oh so it was lack of money. Thought so

Well you clearly don’t think roads are a priority.
I don't think they are top priority but understand others may think differently. Some councils are good, some are bad, some are in the middle. Such is life.

What bit of 16 million is lack of money . Do them right in the first place have a guarantee on the work and inspect them so they are not getting paid several times a year for the same job . Typical of local government no one gives a dam just keep handing money over

Bad roads have a knock on effect on most things.

Each to their own opinion

Seen this today re LTNs and 20 zones. I'd be interested to know what defines 'residents support' e.g. do they need at least 51% of residents to agree with all residents receiving notification of the plans through the post with a ballot held ... or do the council simply need to prove they've held at least one local meeting in a church hall to discuss with an ad placed in the local paper advising of its date and time.

'We only received 7 objections following our well advertised (one tiny ad in local paper) local meeting in the church hall, so we evidently have widespread community support to proceed with the LTN.'

This doesn't apply to Scotland, not sure what the regulations are up here for councils, knowing the SNP they can likely bash on without consultation.

It probably also depends who is consulted. People in the LTNs are probably keen on it, those wanting to take a shortcut through a neighbouring zone not so much.
