When you lie about your employment history, you’re aiming to secure yourself a job and stop other candidates getting that same job, which is illegal.
It isn't just about telling a few porkies to get a job in a shop or something like that.
She secured the job as chief fact checker for the BBC.
She set herself up as the final arbitrar of what is true and what is not true.
Trust in the BBC is already at an all time low, it doesn't help to appoint a liar to adjudicate on the truthfulness of others.

Regardless, she's not "adjudicating", she's presenting evidence (at least on the occasions I've heard her), on which the listener or viewer can make their own mind up.
