GB News

How has Brexit caused inflation globally? We're influential, but surely not to that extent.
Has it affected inflation for us or not ?

Either way it is a relevant subject to discuss if discussing inflation.

Gb news yet again avoiding a balanced discussion

How has Brexit caused inflation globally? We're influential, but surely not to that extent.
It's contributed to it domestically and therefore internationally (because we export stuff still) and that is why the right are wrong to ignore it.

Blup

You could argue the same about boat crossings when do the BBC broadcast they're happening.?
You not think you've missed the point that news outlets have their own specific drum to bang?

fairly regularly.

but it's not really news now is it. Current reporting just tends to focus on the most recent numbers.

Of course it has...

What do you think the effect of a devalued currency has on imported goods?

And why have many brexiteer agitators chosen to do their business in the EU and other places where there is a favourable exchange rate?

Surely it couldn't be for their financial advantage due to them having helped crash sterling could it? ;)

For example...

"Rees-Mogg, a vocal supporter of Brexit, has received at least £7m in dividends from Somerset (The Capital Management investment fund he co-founded in 2007.) since the EU referendum in 2016, according to media reports."

"The company, which has £4bn in assets under management, has traditionally invested in listed companies in emerging markets, including China, South Korea, India and Mexico, and is believed to have benefited from the pound’s fall in value after the Brexit vote, because its holdings were overseas."

What's your view on legal immigration. Is 300K net migration an OK number.
If we have set rules that allows that number and we have the ability to change that number by changing the rules as and when the country's needs and circumstances change, the actual number is irrelevant.

So yes, 300k would be fine if it were legal.

So no asylum seekers at all then.

Of course the law doesn't stop asylum seekers coming by boat and being granted asylum. All it does is ensure people smugglers get their cut and that some drown.
I agree. Our rules are wrong and need changing to allow people to apply for asylum here from outside the UK to stop the demand for people smugglers.

I still want better vetting of asylum claims though to prevent people gaming the system to get try and circumvent our immigration rules.

The Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg has joined the rightwing TV channel GB News as a presenter. The former cabinet minister will host his own chatshow, which will tour the country to record in front of live audiences. His show will “debate the hot topics of the day” and feature guests from “across the political spectrum”, according to the broadcaster.

“The programme will embrace a range of guests and viewpoints from all sides of politics but will also explore some of Jacob’s other wide-ranging interests. No doubt classic cars and good Somerset cider will feature at some point.”

Just to check, isn't the taxpayer giving him a salary as a full-time employee?
He plans to keep the day job and let's be honest; who wouldn't want to see how long it takes him to get pished on Thatchers Old Gold: 'Drunk Bre*it' sounds a damn sight more fun than the usual twiddle-de-dee we've endured.

Perhaps send in a letter of complaint? Hand-delivered by a man on horseback, natch.

Feel strongly enough, why not despatch an emissary to deliver one's ire in person?

Gotta put it in terms that the minister for the nineteenth century would understand (y)

(Yes, I know the postal service of sorts predates the 19th C (y))

The lovely Nadine Dorries is in on the act on TalkTV hosting a chat show, given her level of intelligence, could be a right toe curler.

Mark Steyn, the best thing on GB News, has left GB News after being forced to sign a contract agreeing that he will be responsible for paying his own Ofcom fines.
