Starmer condems…

its hardly news is it - stupid question to ask him really. Did the reporter think he would say something like 'I wish I had time to join in - looked fun'

Its all partially Starmer and Labours fault, we all know they will be pathetically weak against migration, its the woke party, of course they are going to have some crazy open door policy.

we have an incredibly unfair electoral system here, reform got nearly half the votes that labour got (9.6m to 4.1m) and yet Labour got 411 x more seats! how is that representative?
No wonder folk feel disillusioned and are doing what they are doing

(and just for the record I can't stand farage, did not vote for reform, and do not support the riots) but I can understand the frustration of those taking to the streets
That's a lot of biased rubbish.

The immigration issue is a Tory problem thats just been handed over to the new government.

None of us know how or what labour will do short, mid, long term.

Blaming them for the riots is desperation.

A lot of the blame is Farage, and Tommy, making this into political rioting. Little to do with immigration, that's just the reason they used to kick things off

It's a bit of a cliché but often proved true i.e. the government can find money when it wants to. As I've said in other posts, given all the £££ we waste in this country, why not 'waste' some of it towards building more prisons and ensure all our prisons are adequately staffed?

As others have touched on including the OP, it's all very well coming out with tough rhetoric on crime, however when we don't have the infrastructure to back this up, it's almost laughable.

What a state this country is in when it comes to crime. 99% of these rioting muppets won't face any 'arm of the law' and although OT, we have folk brazenly walking into shops, lifting tons of items, and calmly walking out. So confident are they there will be no retribution.

Starmer intends to use movement orders in part. No new laws required. More CCTV may appear but say some one wants to use their passport - tough luck. In part this is intended to stop groups being transported in.

More recently it sounds like they may trace people down via the web. I know this can be done on emails and I would guess that social media apps keep enough info about people to do the same. They are breaking the law if they publish hate speech.

Gov can always find money - think what happened when Truss changed things such that not enough was coming in even in our current state. Debt can also be a driving factor.

Think through what you have posted.

What you are saying is that, until the infrastructure is in place - which will take years - Starmer should actually say "Carry on rioting, knock yourselves out".

Bring in the water cannons and tear gas. Do our police actually use these? I know Boris bought some 2nd hand water cannons x years back but they were never fully commissioned?

What I'm saying is it's a failure of subsequent government's not to have more effective long term strategies around all this stuff. We've pared back services right left centre over past years and then we wonder why the proverbial's hitting the fan, whether crime related, health related, housing related etc.

Anyone with more than three brain cells appreciates it will take years for Labour to start putting all this right, or at least attempt to.

On radio this morning, they were saying prisons up north have no capacity issues.

They are intended to disperse not make arrests, Dream up something that increases the number of arrests.

LOL Well they have so what's the point of bleating about it. Spilt milk, This general style of rioting isn't new. In the UK it has been relatively rare, Now we have a rapid increase all down to one specific reason and not just the stabbings which are related to the same thing. The simplest word to use is racism but there are side factors such as the boats and people who are here on visas. The counter to trying to do something about racism is often the term woke as far as some are concerned. A broadcaster might illustrate some aspects of racism - oh they are left wing. Really weird as the Tory have always been trying to do something about it.

The DPP did not prosecute the postmasters.

I'm surprised you didn't know that.
Reports vary but it does seem a small number of postmasters were convicted of horizon related charges brought by the cps while starmy was in charge. Hopefully the public inquiry will confirm the exact circumstances. The cases didn't go across his desk (he was far too busy concentrating on the politically sensitive cases that would lay the ground for his political career to worry about minor fraud) but it was on his watch and may deserve an appropriate degree of accountability. Ironically if the cps had been responsible for prosecutions rather than the in house post office team. far fewer prosecutions would have been brought because that sort of low level fraud seems to be rarely prosecuted or given priority by the cps.

As you are so confident that there will be no punishment to speak of, why not join in with the next protest, lob a bin or brick at a rozzer, and proudly upload your exploits to soshul meeja? (y)
So because I think people will get away with it, I should do it? That’s a bit silly, even for you.

I voted reform, but with little expectation of them doing well, rather as a protest vote to give the Tory and Labour candidates a kick up the backside.

I wonder where mottie stands on fraudsters who use their status as an MOT tester to run illegal vehicles in another country?
You wonder that in a thread about rioters? What are you, simple or are you just trying to get some support or take the thread off topic?

The Right-Wing Racists had a go at circulating lies in an attempt to stir up racial hatred and violence in Scotland as well.

"Police Scotland says it has no intelligence suggesting anti-immigrant riots could spread north of the border. But yesterday it warned of misinformation related to the stabbing of a woman in Stirling after far-right groups falsely claimed Muslim involvement in the incident."
