Stock market dealing

I was reading "how to day trade" somewhere. Always open to inputs! It said make about 2 trades a day, when the right setup comes up. There is a sound point there. Some trades are learly more solid than others, which have too much hoping with them.
Don't do the latter if the wIn rate is not good enough. Makes sense.

Later in the US afternoon when things are pretty stable, AAPL or MSFT will often as mentioned, range between levels which are 0.3% apart when the spread is only 0.05. Those are gold. They rarely fail, especially if there are strong levels involved where you can wait for it to come again.

This has about $1 safely, a few times in a row. Meta, strong levels. Ten bucks a point is high gearing, but it's a grand a swing. Couple of those a day and imagine you'd be happy? Is that within your margins - I don't know how your SB works? Meta spread is usually a bit wider than the other MAG7.

Another swingable name:
Hyundai motors. (uk) 1 hour candles - could be time for a buy.
A quick acting and possibly short-lived one.
You should ALWAYS use limit orders
Don't order before the market opens or you'll get the top of the gap if there's another one.
You really need tight stop-loss orders to catch a fall, but note the risk of the wick if you use them - there are few wicks here could sell you a few dollars short. They will always trip and sell at or below the bottom of the red line, damned things.
SOmething like the FTSE is safer , because you can buy while it's rising, rather than anticipating a rise on market open.
Here you might try a limit buy at 59. (Green is the buy line)

TV:
15 minutes - not much good then. Thought it was less on the major indices because when you pay it's still a bit delayed, Hardly at all for US but 15 mins for others.

Mara was OK early on today for several % but the stickynote suggestions were mostly way off, SC is claiming all but one were right.

I always use limit orders unless I'm watching. Then too sometimes - they will catch a wick quicker than me.

It never filled at the grey line - that's fine

Good. Much easier, isn't it.?
Shoulda traded Mara. ;)
You can have Bitcoin, plus Coinbase and Riot, Microstrategy, Hut* etc up on the screen atthe same time. When one of them falters, they all will so you get prior notice.
WhenMara was flattening out TTV were squawking about Soundhound, which went up another 20% .
A small capper, I didn't trust it not to go Bertie without notice, so wasn't fully in it.

Now is an unbelievable opportunity to change the way the rich are taxed, and to introduce a wealth tax.

There was an interesting article in the Saturday Times Magazine on this guy: how he made a killing on the market by betting against it, spotting holes in the forecasts and basically doing the opposite of what they predicted. Worth a watch.

Why's he in a pauper's kitchen?
I listened to a few minutes and dipped into some more. 'Fraid I wasn't awestruck by his innova'iv aw'erna'iv nara'iv.

I think he'd call it 'minimalist' - he wasn't one for possessions, apparently, even when he was making all that dosh. A guitar, a sofa and a mattress on the floor was about the extent of his furnishing for an expensive apartment.

Trading mostly Marathon. Good start, but got a bit boring later as not much happened.

I think he'd call it 'minimalist' - he wasn't one for possessions, apparently, even when he was making all that dosh. A guitar, a sofa and a mattress on the floor was about the extent of his furnishing for an expensive apartment.
I can relate to that part, but the expert economist implication - pah.

I've often thouight everyone should have a state provided place to live instead of us all using them to "gamble" with as JD would put it.
It would never work. The Army today , apparently they have trouble. They always allocated billets according to family size, but the officers think their gaffs should be bigger.

@Arbu - I started late - I was out buying a gamer's wired mouse. Yes it is better.
Bitcoin looked uncertain. the fall in Mara wasn't "confluential" so I looked elsehwere.
A day when the scanners paid for themselves. I picked up CEG early on which looked adequate,

1709068952420.png

but
TTV flagged up Janux
1709069240919.png

and VKTX
1709069345522.png

So I grabbed some lumps out of those. Not the initial rise obviously but look at the daily% - there was plenty left.

Mara often moves several percent and often doesn't change direction during the day more than about once. It would have been fine to start the day but I saw CEG and I guess I prefer rising stocks. WHEN you have the crypto price driving things (unlike today, really) , stay in it. There was a $2.30 move, there. $100 a point would be 23000, right? On reflection I don't understand your numbers, like "1" and "100".

Mara made a 10% move so could have given a good start - a "have the rest of the day off" sort of start?
Tip you doubtless know: - if you're getting jittery look at say the 5 minute chart. It hides all those nasty jitters in the price. Calms me down. anyway.

Yesterday, Michael Knauss pointed out that the biotech sector (XBI) is movning andlikely set to jump. I saw what he meant (did I mention it?) so
swapped a house-sized amount into it from Tech (XLK). It did 5%. Long may that continue. I like that it's not chips or electric cars or Meedja.
Michael Knauss is the guy from Trade Ideas. It's either them or Simpler Trading(?) or someone doing a month for $1. Might be worth looking at.

By the way, there was a ruling some time ago in the US (Clinton era, something like Rule 230) which gives the likes of Twitter immunity from prosecution for anything which posters may put on their platfform. Trump wants to repeal - IE remove it. That would hit very hard. TwiXter, Youtube, and the others I never look at.

Were you looking at those other Bitcoin stocks while you were trading Mara? I find they usually give a sign that Mara might stall.

He seems to be a communist. He could always test how much support there is for his ideas by running for election. I'm sure the Communist Party still exists.
