Widespread rioting

Priti Patel did a great job in an interview of taking down Farage who simply gets more disgusting by the day.

Patel said Farage’s comments were deeply misleading and “simply not relevant right now”. She told Times Radio: “There’s a clear difference between effectively blocking streets or roads being closed to burning down libraries, hotels, food banks and attacking places of worship. What we have seen is thuggery, violence, racism." “Over the last week we saw the most appalling stabbings in Southport. Horrific crimes being committed. We’ve seen violence and thuggery on the streets. What we saw during the pandemic, we saw protest. We believe in free speech. We saw protests that were being policed. What we’re seeing right now is thuggery and disorder and criminality. There is a complete distinction between the two.”

However i do believe primary focus should be on what we are doing going forward to stop and prevent this dreadful incident for the 3 little girls plus others happening again.

You were probably on the money before when you suggested executing people with mental health problems.

And turning what was about the murder of 3 poor little girls into primary focus offering protection to an other (religious) group, is also a mistake.
100% agree the rioters should all be held to account harming or fighting police cannot be tolerated.
However i do believe primary focus should be on what we are doing going forward to stop and prevent this dreadful incident for the 3 little girls plus others happening again. These attacks on innocent members of the public i mean. We need to see the government taking a stand there too.
If you ever come up with the answer, the whole world would like to know it.

Do not confuse those rioting, with that dreadful incident, unless you can show that it is directly related.

Yaxley-Lennon has put an update on YT, essentially 'nowt to do with me guv!' and stating that all we're seeing is 'ordinary everyday English people' ... if those rioting represent ordinary everyday English people then God help you down there ...

It shows you how misinformation can spread and how it sticks. Had Jeremy Vine on in the background this morning, then followed by Storm Huntley. Quite a few folk that phoned in were convinced Axel Rudakubana was either a small boat person and/or an illegal immigrant.

When challenged by Jeremy and Storm on this, cue a few secs of silence followed by 'ah well, you know what I mean!'

Thick bigoted idiots, they've to be pitied really.

There's confusion on the right, a lot of the far right thugs voted reform or even torey so there is the potential for losing votes when condemning the outpouring of "british values" on the streets, on the other hand the silent majority aren't happy about the violence and looting. The torey leadership contest will be interesting. They must be praying that the next incident is by an asylum seeker.

it is what happens when people feel disenfranchised,
4.1m people vote for reform and got 5 MP's
9.6m voted for labour and got 411 MP's
Some country eh!, voting Reform gets 1/35th the representation of a looney left labour voter, how is that fair or just?

No wonder people are rioting

and for what its worth, I didn't vote reform and condem the riots, but I can see why its happening
No, this happens when violent racist idiots feel disenfranchised.

Its not random violence, it's targeted violence against minorities and refugees.

Either the people who vote get represented, or they dont.
It's designed to allow a gov of some sort to hold power but coalitions can still exist if parties get sufficient votes.

Farage's problem - he needs to obtain them. Libs have enough to get 3rd so they get more of a voice.

There is another point as well. MP's represent an area and do work for that area. People go and talk to them about their issues in their areas. They want a particular party. So currently the ones that gain the most seats win. Farage may be heavily supported in the areas he has MP's in so wins with very large margins. Fine for them. Population wise he has more apparent support. What to do to even MP numbers up? Give him more than one MP or give him a position some where else? Other areas wont want him. They want the party they voted for.

It's a crackpot idea that dismisses the areas aspect. 2nd choice votes. The libs would love that and this style of arrangement can result in the need to vote more than once. Depends on how it is done.

Exactly. It depends on how it's done.

Time for adults to get together and discuss it, even if it doesnt come to fruition.

But under PR, people are more likely to vote for who and what they believe in, rather than the least worst, or protest votes, which is probably what gave Reform so many votes anyway. Having a Government made up of what people voted for sounds like the right idea to me.
