Triple Lock plus. Simple. State pension set to rise and frozen tax allowance. At some point tax will be due so increase the allowance for pensioners. At some point the change is worth ~£29 per year.

I wondered if it was relating to ending NI and lumping it on income tax. A fair number of pensioners pay tax, they would also be paying NI if this was done.

When I pressured you into saying what percentage of people on benefits are "scroungers" you had a hissy fit and put me on ignore

Which of these people do you consider "benefit scroungers"

people with terminal illness
people with progressive diseases
women who are suffering PTSD as a result of domestic violence
people with permanent disabilities
people who cant work because they are on an NHS waiting list for a serious physical problem like knee or back


The problem with you Harry is when you talk about "benefit scroungers", you include all the above




So come on Harry, what percentage of young people are lazy and feckless? is it all of them or just a percentage.

My experience - of my own two kids, one recently left the teenage years, the other firmly in that bracket - and their friend groups is nothing of the sort.

I stopped to chat to a lady called Lyn on my dog walk this morning, the lady lives in a flat near me, she suffers PTSD from domestic violence. In the winter her universal credit doesnt give her enough money to pay for her heating

She is one of the people you, Harry, Aveatry and NWGS would call a "benefit scrounger"

He did that with me, because he doesn't like to admit that he got his house for half-price (RTB).

He who has the temerity to say that the youth of today don't know hardship like he did.

Nor rights exactly but the youngsters I used to work with thought they would be starting work on £500+ a week. Their 'reasoning' was that their mates were getting that sort of money delivering drugs and they didn’t get out of bed until after 12.00!

Would those circumstances be working hard doing every bit of overtime and scrimping and saving doing without stuff to be able to afford other stuff such as a roof over our heads ?
