What are you having for breakfast?

In case you don't know, my jokes at having wine for breakfast are just that - jokes. Even some of my 'breakfasts' are jokes too. ;)

I didn't know! I've not been following this thread much. It's popular in America, on TV anyway, to have Bucks Fizz with breakfast/brunch, so I thought maybe boozy breakfast had taken off here as well. Although it is a weekday, so should have guessed.

I've only ever drunk tea with a cooked breakfast. Never imagined having else.

Orange juice, as well, occasionally.
On occasion, when having a 'Spoons breakfast in the warmer months, I allow myself the treat of a pint of Thatchers Gold with a full English. The sweetness perfectly offsets the saltiness of the bacon. No finer way to start the day. o_O

However, you are right. Tea is the best accompaniment to cooked breakfast - had 3 mugs of it with my large 'Spoons breakfast this morning - as it happens. Too cold for cider.

Poached smoked haddock this morning with a couple of poached eggs.

Followed by………an expresso! Makes a refreshing change from wine first thing. ;)

Like most peole, I prefer butter but in the cold months I buy butter spreads and I enjoy real butter during the warmer parts of the years.

So am I but I CBA to thaw it out enough to spread on toast. I must have my toast cold though.

I prefer cold toast, but sometimes have it hot, just for a change.

In the winter, I microwave my butter dish for about eight seconds, and it's just enough to make it spreadable.

I put a smallish bit of the block in a butter dish and just leave it out on the surface. It's how my grandma used to do it. Then a few seconds in the microwave to make it spread.

I really don't like Spreadable, not even Lurpak.

M&S make what they claim is softer pure butter, which you can spread from the fridge, but it's only a tiny bit softer. Back in the 1990s Anchor did the same, but not for very long. It just doesn't work.
